What we do:

Coaching for Schools is an organisation dedicated to supporting head teachers and teachers in unleashing the potential of children and teenagers.

Education professionals are under enormous pressure to provide high standards of care and academic achievement and are the absolute experts on doing so. Where we know we can add value is in providing support and training for staff and pupils in various areas:

1. We provide coach training programmes for teachers. These skills can be used to promote learning, provide peer support, reduce staff stress, boost appraisal systems and therefore career paths.

2. We provide personal development seminars and coaching for pupils. These seminars are aimed at providing children with the real life, functional skills that we know that employers want to see in their recruits and that we believe will support the children's lifelong happiness and wellbeing.

3. We provide support materials and can provide back up seminars for parents of pupils and schools undergoing this development so that the work is carried over as much as possible from pupil, to school environment and home environment.

4. We provide coaching for heads. Heads have to juggle business and management skills as well as have high level interpersonal skills and creativity. We provide the reflective space, challenge and support to heads that can help them make a huge impact on their schools whilst maintaining their own career path, fulfilment and wellbeing.

How we do it:

Our team of coaches are all fully accredited and are members of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the only independent, international governing body for coaching. As soon as you contact Coaching for Schools we will arrange for you to speak to one of our senior coaches. He or she will be able to support you in clarifying exactly what you would like from Coaching for Schools and be able to put together a plan for achieving it.

The next step is then to look at funding. You may wish to fund the project yourself or we can support you in finding funding from external sources. In particular, we aim to work with corporations and local business to find sponsorship for your programme. We may even have existing funding available for you to tap straight into.

We will then partner with you to put into practice the agreed plan. This might well include any one or more of the below ideas:

Individual coaching for your head.
Coach training programme for staff.
Appraisal training for line managers.
Personal development seminars for pupils (either extra curricular or as part of their curriculum).
Evening seminars for parents providing information on and backing up the programme.

What is coaching exactly?

Coaching is defined by the ICF as:

Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives.

Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.

Coaching for Schools was founded and is run by Corporate Potential Ltd, a specialist coaching and coach training company that works with businesses and corporations around the world. We supply Master Coaches to FTSE250 companies as well as small businesses, so we understand what businesses are looking for when employing school leavers.

We also only employ qualified coaches who are passionate about our education system. Many "coaches" are actually consultants or therapists who have no actual coach training but have chosen the label of "coach" and are not actually doing what the ICF recognise as coaching. Our coaches are lead by Master Certified Coaches (ICF), and are continually developing themselves and being appraised by us as worthy of working in schools.

We have a range of coaches from different backgrounds and countries so that you will be offered choices about who you work with. We will always make recommendations for you based on your requirements but the final decision is yours.
