unleashing potential ...
Subscribe to our free email newsletter full of tips and articles on using coaching to unleash potential in schools and at home.
Teachers tend to be people who want to make a very real difference in the world. Whilst school exams results are at a record high, over 30 per cent of teachers in England and Wales suffered so much stress that they had to take time off work last year, according to the Schools Advisory Service. In other words, teachers are delivering high academic results at a huge personal cost.
At Coaching for Schools we recognise that you are the experts in teaching and we do not offer any form of educational consultancy. Instead, we aim to support you in various ways:

"The trouble with school leavers!"

Stress Management Coaching:
We can create just-in-time support for teaching staff - support when you need it for specific challenges.
Newly Qualified Teachers:
We can provide support and personal leadership coaching for newly qualified teachers helping you to settle quickly and effectively into your new role.
Coaching Skills Training:
We run a variety of coaching skills training programmes and can create bespoke programmes for your school or area. These include:
Personal Coaching:
Whether you wish to plan your career moves, develop your personal leadership, reduce stress, develop work/life balance or just explore your own teaching skills a coach can help to create the reflective space you need.
Space away from the pressure of work where nobody is going to tell you how you "should" do it, just challenge and support you in finding your own answers and designing your own action and development plans.
Action Learning Sets:
We can facilitate group learning and support sessions where you meet in person or even by telephone conference to discuss your challenges and how you might tackle them. These groups are hugely supportive and beneficial. "Challenges" does not have to mean "problems" - it may be development opportunities, new ideas for your department or whatever else is playing on your mind currently.
Working with Pupils:
See our pages for teens and pre-teens for more information on this. We can work with you to create workshops that solve specific problems or aspirations faced by your school or its pupils.
For instance, one school which was experiencing a bullying problem had us create a small workshop for the girls to talk about communication skills, relationships and dealing with strong emotions.
Or we can provide workshops that meet the demanding requirements of 21st century employers helping the pupils to develop these attributes - employers say that they need communication skills, work ethic, personal responsibility and leadership skills to be enhanced in school leavers more than they need literacy, numeracy and IT skills to improve. With a crowded teaching schedule it can be hard for teachers to find space to teach these - or the time to prepare the additional sessions - we can provide the training in these skills and fit them (if appropriate) to national curriculum requirements.
We are always happy to hear from teachers about their challenges and to discuss how we might be able to help. We can often raise local business funding too or support you in doing so.
We look forward to speaking to you!
