Mentoring
for In-house Coaches
coach mentoring & supervision
There are major benefits to companies employing external mentor coaches to support and mentor their internal coaches. The advantages include:
External
coaches are not affected by company culture.
The external coach can ask questions that expose limiting beliefs and assumptions
within the organisation. This fresh thinking creates the space for bigger
steps to be taken than would have emerged otherwise.
External
coaches are not limited by the company's "stories".
Within any organisation or industry there are expected norms and current
situations that are perceived as "just the way things are". The
external coach does not know and will therefore challenge where it may not
occur to the internal coach to go.
External
coaches are just coaches!
Internal coaches and manager-coaches may have other roles to play and so
cannot give full attention to the client at all times. The mentor coach
is not affected by company structures and politics and may find it easier
to go where it is harder for the internal coach to tread.
Professional
development.
Having a coach mentor develops the internal coach personally and professionally,
making them better coaches and clearer thinkers. We can also provide mentoring
and support for in house coaches wishing to move to formal credentialing
with the International Coach Federation.
Staff
retention.
Having invested time and money in the training of in-house coaches, mentoring
is an excellent way to retain that member of staff - it shows dedication
to the coach and to their professional development and maximises their development
and impact on the bottomline.
We run various very cost-effective mentoring schemes for companies and can even train your inhouse coaches in peer mentoring skills.
